COACHES

JOE MASLEY (CF-L4)
Co-OWNER/HEAD COACH

bI grew up in Marshfield and cherish my childhood memories of playing pond hockey down at Parson's pond , cruising up and down the North and South Rivers to the Spit, and making the trek to BC High everyday in high school.

In 2008, shortly after graduating from Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, I found CrossFit and never looked back.

CrossFit has changed my life for the better and I promise to strive for excellence in all I do to bring you the same happiness and confidence that fitness has brought to me and my family.

Outside of the gym, I serve as a Boston Firefighter, and in my down time there is nothing more I'd rather be doing than hanging with my wife and sons, skiing some deep pow in the winter time, or fly-fishing off Duxbury beach in the summer.

MARK LYNOTT (CF-L3)

Coach

Growing up in Ireland, everyone plays sports and I was no different. At the age of three, I held my first golf club, learned to swim, kicked a ball and rode a bike everywhere I went. As I got older, Gaelic football, soccer, swim team, squash, badminton all occupied my time when I wasn’t lifeguarding or riding the waves in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo.

Moving to America was based on economics but being active throughout college was always a priority. During grad school in the beautiful state of Maine, I surfed a lot and ended up traveling to Indonesia which taught me about the thin line between life and death.

Upon returning to America, Crossfit was suggested to me as a supplement to my active life and training for half marathons. I became immediately addicted. It reminded me of my youth when I was learning new sports coupled with a tremendously positive and supportive bunch of people. Crossfit Boost in Brockton is where I began my journey and after meeting FRAN for my first WOD I was hooked. For four years, I was learning about myself, technique and how to your diet dictates how you grow in Crossfit. For me and my diet, it is always one step forward and two steps back. I had to see how food affected me first hand before I believed in the process. Today I’m still working on ways to stay disciplined with my diet and there are more resources than you realize at CFM ready to help if you need it. Boost closed, but I still keep in touch with the coaches from that time as they are good genuine people but getting married and moving to Marshfield brought me to CFM.

Another reason I love and believe in Crossfit and CFM is the fact that as a member I was held accountable by the coaches to value the standards. From day one at CFM, I had to get lower, I had to relearn and improve on my technique. The coaches guided and supported my process. This fact alone, is why I wanted to coach and share this love and appreciation for the fundamentals. I am still new to coaching but love to watch people get better, get fitter, eat cleaner and learn to love Crossfit.

MARCIA WARD (CF-L3)

Coach

I began my experience with CrossFit in 2015 and have loved this journey ever since. Fitness has always been a part of my life in one way or another. My connection to fitness began early in life and continued into high school, playing varsity field hockey, lacrosse, and racing on the ski team. I have always sought ways to stay active, challenged and inspired. I had tried many forms of fitness training before finding CrossFit including different gyms, yoga, and running. Once I began CrossFit I found the variability, challenge, and community I was seeking and have been consistently engaged ever since. I love setting goals no matter how big or small and finding ways to work on them.

I am passionate about helping others on their fitness journey no matter what age, stage, or ability level they are at. I believe everyone has the power to make changes that will improve their overall health and quality of life. I feel fortunate to be able to contribute to that process.

Outside of the gym Marcia has her Masters in Education and is a teacher of children with special needs ages 3 to 5 years. She is the mother of two boys and lives in Marshfield with her family.

Jen DuPont (CF-L2)

Coach

I have always been an active person and I am very passionate about the importance of movement and quality nutrition in living a healthy life. I grew up in Pembroke and played field hockey and softball through high school and continued playing softball through college. I found CrossFit in 2014 and loved the outlet it provided for me to challenge myself and get outside of my comfort zone. It is a privilege to be a coach at CrossFit Marshfield and I absolutely love being able to help people live a healthier life and realize they are capable of so much more than they may have ever thought possible inside and outside of the gym!
Outside of the gym, you can find me spending time with my Husband and our 2 year old daughter. I am an Asst. Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, where I work on research studies focused on the intersection of cardiovascular disease and aging and how this differs between men and women.
